The Game Changers 2022 is a concept for series of conversations between some of the most inspiring, pioneering women working in, and contributing to the film, television, and audio-visual industry sector in South Africa. These women are trailblazers who have successfully broken-down barriers and are paving the way for new talent by demystifying the industry and centring new ways of telling stories – both in front of, and behind the camera. A key theme of the series is to interrogate the challenges these women have faced in the sector, while highlighting the opportunities and practicalities of working with national and international broadcasters in the era of VOD and global streaming networks. The series will feature award-winning film and television producers, directors, screenwriters, actors, film marketers, and festival organisers in conversation with each other. The concept is inspired by the Aljazeera Series Studio B Unscripted The conversations are enabled by the Independent Black Filmmakers Collective (IBFC), and made possible through South African Screen Sector Support Initiative. Episode 1 featured Producers Bongiwe Selane and Jayan Moodley.
